Man stabbed four times during car theft attempt near Waverly will survive

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says the 69-year-old man stabbed four times during a car theft attempt will survive.

Officials tell us he was attacked near Waverly on Friday morning, around North 112th Street and Branched Oak Road.

The assailant was later identified as 33-year-old Haley Gaston, from Omaha.

Authorities say she stabbed the victim twice in the left arm and two more times in the abdomen.

The sheriff’s office told Channel 8 that it recommends avoiding physical or verbal altercations in car theft situations.

They say you can help by being a good witness and providing a detailed description of the suspect.
