Man, woman arrested after high-speed chase ends in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska State Patrol arrested two people Wednesday after a chase that ended in Lincoln.
In the afternoon, the state patrol learned that the Columbus Police Department was involved in a short pursuit with a driver who had a warrant.
The vehicle, a Chrysler Town & Country, had fled southbound from the Columbus area and was believed to be headed toward Lincoln.
At 1:45 p.m., a trooper saw the minivan speeding at 100 mph on Highway 34 west of Lincoln.
The trooper tried to pull the car over, but the patrol said the driver refused to yield, and the trooper started a chase.
As the vehicle approached Lincoln, pilots in the state patrol helicopter took over the chase from the air.
The pilots tracked the vehicle as it entered the Air Park area before the driver stopped near Northwest 53rd Street and West St. Paul Avenue.
Both occupants started running through backyards, according to the patrol, while the driver tried to hide under a deck.
Troopers arrived on scene and quickly took the driver into custody. Other troopers arrested the female passenger less than one block away after they said she continued running from them.
The driver, 39-year-old Michael Neemeyer of Lincoln, was arrested on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, possession of marijuana, an active warrant and numerous traffic violations.
The passenger, 27-year-old Malorie Poessnecker of Lincoln, was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer and failure to obey a lawful order.
Both were lodged in the Lancaster County Jail.
