Matt Rhule gives update on injured Nebraska QB Jeff Sims
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule is unsure what quarterback Jeff Sims’ status will be for Saturday’s game.
At a press conference Thursday, Rhule said Sims – who suffered an injury against Colorado last week – has been progressing in practice.
“I know he feels like he’s getting better,” Rhule said. “He’s moving around and stuff, so we’ll see how he does tomorrow.”

If Sims can’t play against Northern Illinois, backup quarterbacks Heinrich Haarberg or Chubba Purdy could start.
But Rhule said Jeff has been looking good and running the ball in practice this week.
“He’s probably not back at 100%, but I don’t know if anybody is during football season, to be honest,” Rhule said.
