Mayor Beutler spending extra funds on roads

Mayor Chris Beutler wants to spend an extra $2.8 million on Lincoln streets–and he says the city has the money to do it.

His office just announced there’s more money to spend in the proposed budget than originally planned.

Turns out, the finance office crunched some numbers and found that health insurance rates for the general fund won’t increase as much as they had anticipated.

So, they say that will free up $2.8 million in his proposed budget through 2020.
