Mild Tuesday, winter returns Wednesday
We’re in for one more mild day, then winter comes back for a couple of days. Highs will struggle Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before warming back up for the weekend
Rain and snow will be possible on Wednesday with another chance for some light snow on Friday. See all the forecast details in the video forecast above!
A quiet and mild Tuesday is headed our way.
We’ll start the day off in the middle 20s and top out around 50 degrees. That’s a good 7 degrees above average.
We’re actually above average for snowfall in Lincoln as of February 20th.
Above is a look at how we have done over the last several years for snow in February.
There is a chance for snow late Tuesday into Wednesday for much of the state, but the better chance is in north central and NW Nebraska.
SE Nebraska will have a chance at rain mixing in, which will limit the snow potential.
Because of the heavier snowfall potential to our north and NW, there are Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Storm Watches in place.
The snow starts up late Tuesday and lasts through Wednesday. Some of it may linger into early Thursday.
Snowfall potential is highest in north central and NW Nebraska where over a foot is possible. SE Nebraska may not even see an inch, but rain is more possible.
Everybody else will be in the middle with more snow the further north you go.
The wind will be an issue, as well. It will start to gust out of the north at 15 to 30+ mph Wednesday, so blowing snow will make travel difficult.
We still have a couple of days to fine tune this forecast, so please check back often for updates!
