Milford students witness medical helicopter land for learning experience
MILFORD, Neb. (KLKN) — On Oct. 22, Milford Public Schools students were able to witness a StarCare helicopter landing on their football practice field.
StarCare is an air medical helicopter service in Crete.
The landing is part of a career exploratory unit for elementary and high school students.
The crew educated the children on how they keep the community safe.
“We’ve just come to share our story so people know what we do for our job,” Molly Weber, base lead with StarCare, said. “Also to show that we’re not scary. Our job is here to help people and we work together with the fire and police department to help with car accidents and other things that happen out in the community.”
Jason Weber, the assistant principal for Milford High School, thanked his wife for setting up the event.
“We also have the pilot here available to talk to any kids that are interested in engines or even flying a helicopter or plane,” Jason Weber said.
