LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A little more than a month after she went missing, police have found and identified the body of Cari Allen.

On Wednesday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced that authorities found a deceased person at the southern end of Topeka, Kansas.

On Friday, an autopsy confirmed that the body was that of 43-year-old Cari Allen.

A cause of death has not been released, but authorities have ruled the death a homicide.

A suspect has already been arrested in connection with Allen’s disappearance. On Dec. 7, the sheriff’s office announced the arrest of 47-year-old Aldrick Scott of Topeka.

Prior to his arrest on suspicion of kidnapping, deputies say Scott boarded a plane and left the United States. He was later arrested in Belize on Dec. 6.

It is unclear if Scott will be charged in the death of Cari Allen.

Allen was last seen on Nov. 19 just before midnight. The sheriff’s office announced its search for her the next Monday.
