Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash east of Waverly
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital early Monday morning after a crash involving a truck.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said it happened around 5 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 6 and Waverly Road.
A 27-year-old man from Detroit was driving his motorcycle east on Highway 6, authorities said.
The sheriff’s office said a truck clipped the motorcycle while driving the same direction.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said the driver had taped flashlights to the back of the motorcycle, so it was “very poorly lit” and the truck driver couldn’t see him.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
The sheriff’s office said the motorcyclist was cited for having improper lights.
Waverly Fire and Rescue also responded to the crash.
