MS-13 kingpin arrested in Omaha, ICE says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Federal authorities said they arrested a high-ranking member of the MS-13 gang Wednesday in Omaha.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not identify the man but said he is one of El Salvador’s top 100 most wanted fugitives.
He was wanted on five counts of aggravated homicide, attempted aggravated homicide, deprivation of liberty and terrorist organization affiliation, according to ICE.
The kingpin was arrested alongside Rene Saul Escobar Ochoa, who the government says is another MS-13 member.
ICE said he ordered fellow gang members to commit a variety of crimes, including homicide, extortion and drug trafficking.
Both were in the country illegally, authorities said, and were arrested without incident.
“They thought they could hide in America’s heartland, but they were sadly mistaken,” Mark Zito, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations’ Kansas City office, said in a press release. “Not on our watch.”
