Much cooler today & still windy 4/13/2022

Lingering snow showers and sprinkles are likely during a portion of the morning with cold wind chill values around 10-30°. Clouds will gradually decrease into the afternoon and this will eventually help boost up our temperatures. Mostly sunny skies are likely later today with highs in the low to mid-50s. Keep your coats handy throughout the day, because wind gusts around 30 mph will make it feel more like the 30s and 40s. These strong wind gusts and dry air are also raising the concern for fire weather through late this evening. A Red Flag Warning will go into effect at noon and will remain in effect until 9 PM for central and eastern Nebraska. Temperatures plunge overnight thanks to mostly clear skies and we fall below freezing into the mid to upper 20s. Make sure to cover or bring in your plants to protect them! We remain below average in the 50s beyond the weekend and into early next week. A slight chance for passing showers remains on Easter Sunday, but it won’t be a washout.
