This year’s championship will be hosted in Tampa.
This is part of a growing trend of giving women’s sports more of a national spotlight. Last year’s NCAA women’s basketball championship was also aired on ABC, recording record viewership.
Nebraska volleyball, a perennial powerhouse, is also attempting to break the all-time record for attendance at a women’s sporting event in the U.S. when it hosts Volleyball Day in Nebraska at Memorial Stadium on Aug. 30.
