Nebraska defeats Rutgers in first conference win streak of the season

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Huskers were juiced in Jersey on Tuesday night, defeating Rutgers on the road for the first time in five years.

Nebraska shot 58%, compared with the Scarlet Knights’ 47%, to win 82-72.

And NU went 12 of 28 from behind the 3-point line. That’s the Huskers’ most 3-pointers in a conference game this season.

Keisei Tominaga led Nebraska with 22 points. C.J. Wilcher scored 17, and Derrick Walker added 16.

Sam Griesel had a double-double, scoring 12 points and making 11 rebounds.

He also led in the team in assists, with five.

Nebraska (13-14, 6-10 Big Ten) has now won back-to-back conference games for the first time this season.

The Huskers host Maryland at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Rutgers (16-10, 8-7) plays at Wisconsin on Saturday.
