LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Another Nebraska assistant coach is heading to the Sunshine State.

Brendan Sonnone with 247sports reported Wednesday that Nebraska’s defensive line coach Terrance Knighton is joining Florida State’s coaching staff.

He will join former Nebraska defensive coordinator Tony White, who is now helming Florida State’s defense.

Knighton played in the NFL for seven seasons, with 96 starts for Jacksonville, Denver and Washington from 2009 to 2015.

After his stint in the NFL, Knighton started his coaching career at Wagner, a Football Championship Subdivision program in New York.

He went on to join Matt Rhule’s Carolina Panthers staff, helping coach the defensive line in 2021 and 2022.

Knight then came to Nebraska, where he helped the Blackshirts rank eighth nationally in rushing defense in 2023.
