Nebraska deputy hospitalized after car crashed into his cruiser, authorities say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Cass County deputy is recovering after authorities say a car crashed into his cruiser on Friday.
Cass County Sheriff Robert Sorenson said a Chevrolet Cruze was traveling north on Highway 75 around 1 p.m. when it lost control.
The sheriff’s office said that the car was being driven by an 18-year-old and that a teen girl was in the passenger seat.
Authorities said the driver left the roadway, then tried to reenter, causing him to lose control.
The vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the driver’s side of the deputy’s vehicle, which was heading south near Young Road, according to the sheriff’s office.
Both teens were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The Cass County deputy was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The Nebraska State Patrol is handling the investigation into this crash.
