Nebraska district attorney announces plan for election security
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — With Election Day a week away and election security a topic on some voters’ minds, government officials are working to alleviate worries.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nebraska (USAO) has announced its plan for election integrity in the 2026 General Election.
According to USAO, federal election laws are to be enforced vigorously.
The plan has three key enforcement priorities for the election including protecting voter rights, monitoring voter registration and eligibility, investigating allegations of ballot harvesting, voter impersonation or intentional disruption of polling places and mail-in ballot processing.
The public also plays a critical role in the plan, according to USAO. The public is encouraged to report any potential election fraud or voting irregularities.
Federal oversight will remain active throughout the voting period.
