LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 31-year-old Nebraska man was convicted Monday of first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend.

On Dec. 17, 2023, Molly Gruber and her child were at a home in Superior that they shared with Sebastian Dunbar.

During an argument, Dunbar used a rifle to shoot through a door of their house, killing Gruber.

After a six-day trial, he was found guilty of first-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony and assault by strangulation.

Dunbar was also convicted of a misdemeanor of negligent child abuse.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
