Nebraska softball’s record-breaking season comes to a close in super regional

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska softball team’s record-breaking season came to a close Sunday, losing 1-0 to No. 7 Tennessee in the super regionals at Sherri Lee Parker Stadium.
As a team, the Huskers struggled to string together hits at the plate, only tallying two hits. The Lady Vols managed four hits and left six runners on base.
Ava Kuszak and Hannah Camenzind had the two hits for the Huskers, while Bella Bacon was hit by a pitch and Ava Bredwell walked.
Jordyn Bahl (26-8) pitched all six innings for the Big Red, only allowing four hits and struck out four batters.
Tennessee’s lone run came in the top of the first inning via an Ella Dodge home run to right field.
Karlyn Pickens (24-9) put together a strong showing in the circle, pitching seven innings while fanning 10 batters.
“In the locker room, we talked about watching Tennessee celebrate,” said Jordy Bahl. “Watch them hold their ticket, put their hats on and watch them in the world series. I feel like that is how you’re able to get the most out of being on the other end of that.”
The Huskers finish their season with a 43-15 record, breaking numerous program records including runs scored, run-rule wins and attendance records.
Head Coach Rhonda Revelle feels this program took a big leap in 2025. “Regarding Nebraska Softball, we weren’t even in the NCAA tournament last year,” said Revelle. “We had a big vision this year. We didn’t quite make it, but we took a big step.”
