Nebraska State Fair officials say they plan to go through with a full fair experience, despite concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

State Fair officials said in a news release Friday they expect to showcase the entire 11-day event from August 28-September 7, and produce the Aksarben Stock Show from September 24-27.

“State Fair staff and Board are mindful of and monitoring the current COVID-19 impact to events and social gatherings,” the release said. “We are communicating regularly with our International Association of Fairs and Expositions, state and local authorities, entertainment booking companies, vendor and concession partners, as well as 4-H, FFA and Open Class Competition teams.”

Fair officials say they are ready to adjust plans if necessary. Staff met last week to begin looking at contingency plans.
