Nebraska State Patrol arrests Chicago homicide suspect in North Platte
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Chicago man was arrested in North Platte in connection with a homicide investigation.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Nebraska State Patrol was alerted that a homicide suspect was driving through Nebraska in a semitrailer.
According to the state patrol, troopers were able to find the semi just after it exited I-80 and parked at a business south of the interstate.
Troopers found the driver — 34-year-old Essian McGinnis of Tinley Park, Illinois — and arrested him without incident.
He was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on an active warrant for homicide in Cook County, Illinois.
The state patrol is working with the United States Marshals Service and the Chicago Police Department on this case.
