Nebraska State Troopers honor fallen Indiana hero

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —Nebraska State Troopers gathered Sunday to honor one of their own from across state lines.
16-year veteran Indiana Master Trooper, James R. Bailey, died last week while serving. Bailey was led on a high-speed chase by 42-year-old Terry Sands on March 3.
In an effort to stop Sands, Bailey exited his vehicle to place stop sticks on the road where he was then hit by Sands car.

Bailey was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
NSP released a statement that said ” We were honored to have Troopers pay respects on behalf of NSP to Indiana State Police Master Trooper James Bailey, who was killed in the line of duty last week. May his family, friends, and colleagues find comfort in the tremendous outpouring of support at his funeral yesterday.”
The driver accused of hitting him has since been charged with murder.
