LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Husker volleyball added former Florida opposite hitter Merritt Beason via the transfer portal Friday.

Beason joins Nebraska after spending the past two season with the Gators.

The Alabama native received All-SEC and AVCA All-Southeast Region honors in 2022, and an All-SEC Freshman Team selection in 2021.

Last season, Beason helped the Gators to a share of the SEC Championship, averaging 3.35 kills per set with a .261 hitting percentage.

She ranked third in the SEC in service aces, with 38 last season.
