Nebraska volleyball’s Bekka Allick named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska volleyball middle blocker Bekka Allick is the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for her performance in Nebraska’s home wins last weekend.

The Waverly grad averaged 2.5 kills per set and 1.33 blocks per set over the weekend.

Allick also posted a team-high .481 attacking percentage with 15 kills on 27 swings with just two errors.

Against Penn State, Allick had six kills and six blocks and hit .385 in the 3-0 victory.

On Sunday against Northwestern, she matched her season high with nine kills on .571 hitting to go with two blocks.

Allick’s award is the second Big Ten weekly honor of the season for the Huskers, as Lexi Rodriguez was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week last week.

The Huskers hit the road again this week, playing at Purdue on Wednesday night and at Illinois on Saturday night.
