Nebraska’s Fred Hoiberg named AP national coach of the year
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — After the best season in school history, Nebraska coach Fred Hoiberg has been named the Associated Press national coach of the year.
Hoiberg guided Nebraska to its best season in school history as the Huskers finished with a 28-7 record and the school’s first NCAA Sweet 16 finish in school history.
Nebraska broke a school record for wins in a season with 28.
Hoiberg is also one of four finalists for the 2026 Werner Ladder Naismith Men’s Coach of the Year award, which will be handed out on Sunday.
