Nebraska’s golf ball-sized hail is used to play actual golf

It held up during putt-putt but didn't stand a chance on the driving range

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — After all of the recent hail that’s clobbered Nebraska, the National Weather Service in Hastings tested if there were any upsides.

The golf ball-sized chunks of ice were a solid replacement during a game of putt-putt.

But the NWS team found they were no match for the real thing when it came to a driving range.

Last week many areas in Nebraska got pounded with hail multiple times, damaging vehicles, homes and more.

Repair shops across our area say they’ve been extra busy taking care of all the dents.

Local farmers have also lost lots of crops that were torn apart by the storms.
