New bison calf born at Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park

The bison herd at Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park has gained one new little member!

OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN)- The bison herd at Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park in Ashland has gained one new little member! A calf was born on May 11.

Visitors are now welcome to visit the auburn-colored calf roaming the Bison Plains with its herd.

According to zoo officials, “Bison calves will turn dark brown a few months after birth, the same time their characteristic hump and horns start to grow.”

The park currently has 32 bison in total.
