LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A new Chick-fil-A in north Lincoln announced its opening date on Thursday.

The new restaurant — located on 27th Street between Folkways Boulevard and Fletcher Avenue — will open its doors on Oct. 16 at 6:30 a.m.

According to the fast food joint, this location will serve customers Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

They will offer dine-in, drive-thru, carry out, third-party delivery, mobile pick-up and Mobile Thru. This location will also feature a playground for children.

On opening day, the restaurant also announced a “Cows Eat Free” offer that invites guests of all ages to dress in spotted cow attire to redeem one free entrée or kids meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.

Chick-fil-A picked Mike Stice to be the local owner-operator of the new restaurant.

This is Stice’s second restaurant in the community, as he opened the Chick-fil-a on 48th and O streets in 2019.

“What I love most about being a local Owner-Operator is the chance to serve people well and provide meaningful opportunities for my team to grow, and now we get to do that in more ways, for more people,” Stice said in a press release. “We’re excited to welcome the community with a little fun on opening day, but even more excited for what comes next – the familiar faces, the new connections and the moments of care that make this work so rewarding.”

Stice is committed to giving back to the Lincoln community by:

  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping create over 42 million meals nationwide to date
  • Celebrating the opening of the new restaurant with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A to support local hunger relief efforts of Food Bank of Lincoln

According to the restaurant, this new location will create about 90 jobs in Lincoln.
