No changes to Lincoln races after last early ballots are counted

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The final 7,700 early ballots in Lincoln’s general election were counted on Friday, confirming the election night standings in two close races.
City Councilman Bennie Shobe will keep his seat.
He came in third in the six-person Lincoln City Council race, with about 25,700 votes.

Councilwoman Sandra Washington and Councilman Tom Beckius finished first and second, respectively. Their victories were apparent Tuesday night.
Stan Parker came the closest to the three incumbents, finishing in fourth with about 21,100 votes.
Shobe grew his election night lead over Parker by about 1,800 votes.

In the race for the District 7 seat on the Lincoln Public Schools board, Marilyn Johnson-Farr prevailed, with about 3,400 votes.
Cheryl Meyer-Thompson finished with about 2,700.
