‘No person has the perfect idea’: Sen. Pansing Brooks talks Biden’s Inflation bill
Pansing Brooks says the bill is necessary because of Nebraskans' struggles.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska Sen. Patty Pansing Brooks says President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act isn’t perfect, but it’s necessary.
The House of Representatives is expected to pass the $430 billion inflation bill this Friday.
Opponents of the bill say the cost is too high and Rep. Mike Flood said he believes it will hurt taxpayers.
Flood will be in Washington, D.C. later this week and he has said that he will vote against the bill.

Despite the price tag, Pansing Brooks says it’s worth it in order to help citizens who have been struggling with inflation over the last few months.
“I think it’s one of our top priorities and we have to do more. Even more than what that bill is doing,” Pansing Brooks said.
The bill hopes to provide Americans some relief in health care and other costs, according to the Associated Press.
Pansing Brooks says she hopes this health care assistance can be extended.
“They’ve taken something out of the bill that would have capped insulin prices for all Americans and I think that that’s something that I don’t agree with,” Pansing Brooks said. “I would have gone farther on that.”
The debate over this bill lasted through the night in the Senate, and both Pansing Brooks and Flood believe the only way to fix the problem is for all Congress members to put the citizens first.
“No party, no person has the perfect idea. We are only stronger when we come together and work together,” Pansing Brooks said.
