Norris’ CJ Hood thrilled to be committed to Huskers
"I've always wanted to be a Husker," CJ Hood said.
FIRTH – CJ Hood’s dream is becoming reality.
The Norris baseball standout committed to the Huskers on Monday, following in his brother Byron’s footsteps. Byron played for Nebraska from 2016-19.
“I’ve always wanted to be a Husker,” CJ Hood said.
The Nebraska coaching staff is also excited to add Hood to its 2021 recruiting class.
“We had a group chat and they were sending a bunch of gifs. They were freaking out.”
At 6-4, 190 lbs., Hood said he’s eating close to 5,000 calories a day to add muscle this summer. He’s also added 6 mph to his fastball as a right-handed pitcher.
“I’ve been shoveling it in,” Hood said.
Hood currently plays for Hickman Post 105. He will play football and basketball on top of baseball this year for Norris.
