Northern lights potential, but a cold night
The Northern Lights may make an appearance this Monday night! If space models are correct, anytime after sunset will have the chance to see them, especially further north. For best viewing, get away from city lights and keep an eye on the northern horizon.
We would love to see video of any Northern Lights footage you may get. You can upload that using our Now Local News App HERE.
It will be cold tonight, though. Temperatures will slowly but surely drop through the teens as the night progresses.
Clouds may be a slight issue, too. The Northern Lights are pretty hard to see perfectly since so many things can hinder viewing. But there’s a chance tonight!
Early Tuesday morning will see single digits and teens for lows. A cold start to the day!
We try to warm up but only make it into the low to mid 30s for the eastern half of the state. Much warmer further west.
Because of the colder air, we may see a few flurries in far eastern Nebraska Tuesday afternoon and evening.
After a chilly Tuesday, we will warm up briefly on Wednesday. That will do it for the warm air for a while. Teens for highs are likely Friday into the weekend with another snow chance!
