NSP arrests 2 Lincoln men after cross-county pursuit


LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP), working arrested two Lincoln men Thursday evening.

Around 11:10 p.m., NSP was alerted to a stolen Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on I-80 in Sarpy County.

Troopers tried to pull the truck over, but it accelerated westbound. As the vehicle approached Lincoln, additional troopers deployed stop sticks twice.

Even with the flat tires, the Chevy continued to drive on its rims, swerving over all lanes of traffic. Finally, the Chevy stopped near 70th and Hwy 6.

The three people found inside the pickup were taken into custody.

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Johnny Rodriguez of Lincoln, was arrested on several theft and traffic violations.

One passenger, identified as 34-year-old Torben Stone of Lincoln, was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The other passenger, a female, was released.
