One person found dead in rubble of Nebraska home explosion
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Hastings Police Department is investigating a deadly home explosion.
The agency said it happened around 3:15 a.m. Sunday near South Baltimore Avenue and West E Street.
A 911 caller said there was an explosion at a home in the area.
Crews arrived to more explosions a few minutes later.
Police said the home collapsed and was destroyed.
A body was found in the debris, according to police.
The Nebraska State Patrol bomb squad and the Nebraska State Fire Marshal Agency were called to help after “destructive devices” were found at the scene, police said.
“Our thoughts are with all individuals affected by this tragedy,” Hastings Police said in a press release. “We thank all first responders, assisting agencies and our community for their support.”
The name of the victim has yet to be released. The investigation is ongoing.
