One teen dead, one injured in rollover crash near Beatrice

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One teen is dead and another was injured in a rollover crash around 6 p.m. on Saturday southeast of Beatrice.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash near South 36th and Locust Roads.

The 2003 Ford Mustang was traveling at a high speed before the vehicle left the roadway and rolled, the sheriff said.

Both passengers were ejected from the vehicle.

Keilan Schultz, 17, of Wymore was pronounced dead at the scene.

Billy Okeefe Jr., 18, of Wymore was transported by ground ambulance to Bryan West for suspected serious injuries.

The teenagers were not using seat belts at the time of the crash, the sheriff said.

An investigation remains open and ongoing.
