Pedestrian hit, business bashed and officer spat at in citywide crime spree
Grand Island Police say this all started with an argument outside the Peacock Lounge
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was arrested early Monday morning after Grand Island Police say he committed crimes throughout the community.
Witnesses told them it all started with an argument involving Miguel Villatoro in the Peacock Lounge parking lot, around 1:19 a.m.
They say he then used his Jeep to intentionally run into a pedestrian, who suffered serious injury.
From there police tell us Villatoro drove off before crashing into Capital Car Wash, but he still wasn’t done.
Officers finally found the Jeep at a residence about a mile away.
We’re told Villatoro constantly pulled away from them as they went to arrest him, and at one point even spit in an officer’s face.
Police say the smell of alcohol was coming from Villatoro this entire time, and that he had slurred speech, blurred eyes, and couldn’t balance either.
A record check came back with two arrest warrants out of Hall County as well.
Villatoro is facing a lengthy list of charges right now including: DUI with serious bodily injury, 1st degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, resisting arrest, and assault on an officer.
