Police identify 18-year-old killed in shooting at north Lincoln house party
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police have identified the man who was killed in a shooting at a house party late Friday night.
Around 11:30 p.m., officers were sent to a home near 27th and Fair Streets on a report of gunshots.
When officers arrived, police say, several people were fleeing a house party.
Shortly after, 18-year-old Damien Brave arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds, Police Chief Teresa Ewins said Monday.
Brave, who police say was a high school student in Lincoln, later died from his injuries.
Dozens of “high school-aged” people were at the party and could have witnessed the shooting, according to police.
Ewins said there are “several people of interest,” and anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at a dedicated hotline: 402-441-7333.
People can also call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
