Police investigate robbery at Russ’s in south Lincoln

Police caught the suspect with the help of a K-9 unit.

It happened at around 7 a.m. Wednesday.  Lincoln Police Captain Joe Wright says 20-year-old Sheldon Stubblefield walked into Russ's Market at 33rd and Highway 2 armed with a knife.

Captain Wright says Stubblefield demanded money from an employee.  Police say Stubblefield left the store on foot.  Police say he was tracked by a Lincoln Police K-9 unit and was bitten by the police dog.  Stubblefield was taken to the hospital by ambulance.  Police say his injuries are not serious.

Police say none of the Russ's employees were hurt.
