Police K-9s given potentially lifesaving “Buddy Bags” in one Nebraska community

The bags include Narcan which can reverse the effects of a drug overdose

KEARNEY, Neb. (KLKN) — K-9s at the Kearney Police Department will have some additional protection the next time they’re called upon to protect the community.

West Villa Animal Hospital donated two “Buddy Bags” that include Narcan, which reverses the effects of opioids.

Far too often police K-9s across our country come across the dangerous drugs that have claimed countless lives.

Hospital officials say they’re hoping the bags never have to be used, but it should give all of us a little peace of mind knowing they have them.
