Pope Francis proposes day of peace as tensions rise in Ukraine
The Pope is concerned for the country amid Russian threat
VATICAN CITY (KLKN) – As Russia and Ukraine struggle to resolve conflict, the Pope is getting involved to encourage peace.
“I am following with concern the rising tensions that threaten to inflict a new blow to peace in Ukraine, and put in question the security in Europe with even wider repercussions,” said Pope Francis.
He has called for Wednesday to be designated as a day of prayer for peace between the nations, so political talks could be more focused on, “human brotherhood instead of partisan interests.” He also emphasized that we are all created as brothers.
