Portions of several busy Lincoln streets to close starting Friday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department on Thursday announced the partial closure of several streets.
Havelock Avenue between 84th and 148th streets will close from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday for the Gravel Worlds event.
Starting Friday at 6 a.m., Canopy Street between Q and R streets — and R Street between Canopy Street and Pinnacle Bank Arena Drive — will close for the AVCA First Serve Showcase.
Additionally, westbound R, Q and P streets at Ninth Street may periodically close as part of these closures.
Those streets will reopen Sunday at 10 p.m.
Also on Friday, 33rd Street between Pioneers Boulevard and Prescott Avenue will close from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for private property crane work.
On Saturday, westbound West Highland Boulevard between Northwest Second and Northwest Seventh streets will close from 8 a.m. to noon for private property crane work.
Eastbound O Street between 12th and 13th streets will close Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crane work.
Also on Sunday, the Nebraska Department of Transportation will start work on Interstate 180 between Interstate 80 and Cornhusker Highway.
On Tuesday, A Street between 26th and 27th streets will close for a lead pipe replacement.
This work is expected to be completed by Sept. 2.
