Prepare for weather whiplash
There is a lot of different weather headed our way the next couple of days. It will all lead to a strong snowstorm late Tuesday into Wednesday. With that said, a Winter Storm Watch is in place for the potential.
Before that, it’s going to be VERY warm again Tuesday. Most of us will see the 60s and 70s for highs.
After that, a cold front will slide across the state late Tuesday. See below for what our StormCast model is saying for timing and duration.
Because of that cold front, a few storms will be possible late Tuesday with one or two of those storms having the potential to be severe.
The main concern will be hail. It’s a small chance, but any storm that forms may produce quarter size hail.
The first part of the storm will likely be rain and we may get a tenth to a quarter inch of liquid out of it.
Then comes the snow. The best chance for higher accumulation will be in parts of central and NE Nebraska. Most of us are looking at 2-4″ of snow.
It’s going to be very windy, too. Below is what our StormCast weather model is saying for wind gusts Tuesday through Wednesday.
