Quick warm up, then a cool end of the week
A cool start to the day on Wednesday with temperatures in the middle 50s. We warm up quickly, though. Into the 80s by noon!
Most of Nebraska will see lows early Wednesday in the 50s and 60s. This is pretty close to normal for early September.
Highs will generally be in the 80s for most of the state. A few of us may get into the lower 90s, though.
Lincoln will try for 90 by the middle of the afternoon on Wednesday, but the heat is short lived. We’ll see the lower 80s on Thursday and the 70s for a high on Friday.
A cold front will roll across the state late Wednesday into Thursday giving western Nebraska a chance for storms Wednesday night then in eastern Nebraska by Thursday afternoon.
There will be a small chance for severe storms Wednesday evening with those storms that do form.
