Quick winter blast
It’s going to be cold for the next couple of day, but we do warm back up rather quickly. By the weekend, temperatures jump back up into the upper 40s and lower to middle 50s. The 50s continue all the way through much of next week.
There will be a chance for light snow Friday, then thunderstorm chances Sunday night with rain into Monday. It looks dry for the rest of next week.
Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories will continue through noon Thursday. Snow to the north and light freezing drizzle and light snow to the snow remains likely overnight.
The heaviest snowfall will fall in north central and northwest Nebraska. It tapers off the further south you go.
After the precipitation comes to an end, it gets VERY cold. Temperatures will be in the single digits above and below zero to start Thursday. MUCH colder to the west.
The wind chill will be dangerous. Teens, 20s, 30s, and possibly 40s below zero wind chill will be possible overnight into early Thursday.
Because of the brutally cold wind chills, there are Wind Chill Warnings and Wind Chill Advisories in place through noon Thursday.
