Quiet Friday, storms possible over the weekend
Friday will be mostly dry with quite a bit of sun. Scattered showers are likely in SW Nebraska with a spot shower or storm is possible by the afternoon in eastern Nebraska.
Temperatures will be cooler than average, but still very close to 80 degrees by the afternoon.
Looking ahead to Saturday, storms will be moving in from NW to SE during the day. See below for what our latest StormCast has for timing.
Much of the state is in a level 2, “Slight Risk” for severe weather during this time.
The main threat will be large hail. Those in the areas with the black hash marks may see hail in excess of 2″ in diameter. That’s bigger than golf balls.
Damaging wind will also be an issue with storms that do form.
