Quiet Saturday, severe storms possible Sunday and Monday
Other than a small shower chance early on Saturday, the start of our weekend looks dry and warm. Strong to severe storm chances start to move in Sunday, then again Monday. After a warm weekend, temperatures will be cooling off next week.
Middle 80s for highs on Saturday and Sunday with the chance for strong to severe storms on Sunday.
Our StormCast model is picking up on a light rain chance Saturday morning, but that should move out quickly. We’ll eventually see mostly sunny skies by the afternoon.
Highs on Saturday will be determined by a cold front. Cooler air to the west, warmer to the east.
On Sunday, two rounds of storms will be possible. One in the morning, then one in the afternoon and evening. If the morning storms linger long enough, we may not see the evening ones.
If we do see the evening storms, strong to severe weather will be possible. Above is what our StormCast model is projecting for Sunday evening.
As it stands, we are in a level 2 “Slight Risk” for severe storms Sunday afternoon and evening for the potential. Large hail, damaging wind, and isolated tornadoes will be possible.
Monday will also have a severe weather chance, but the details on that will depend on what happens Sunday, so stay up to date with the forecast as we get closer!
We cool off as we head into next week after the several chances for storms. There will be a few more storm chances next week and into the Memorial Day weekend.
