Rain and Snow on the Way, 3/21/2022

Snow Accumulation

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of Nebraska starting late tonight and lasting into Tuesday morning. A couple inches of snow is possible along with a gusty north wind at 20-40 mph. Those in SE Nebraska not in the advisory will mainly see rain, but a few snowflakes may try to mix in early Tuesday morning. Snow is expected to start up after dark Monday and last into the morning hours Tuesday.

This rain/snow mix potential continues to be possible into Wednesday as this storm churns over us, but much of the accumulating rain and snow will be done by Tuesday. Temperatures, however, will be chilly for the next couple of days with highs in lower and middle 40s.

We start to warm back up again on Thursday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the middle 50s. Then back into the 60s by Friday and into the weekend. It’s possible we see some 70s again by Sunday and Monday of next week!

We do have another chance for some moisture in the extended forecast, but that waits until the end of the month.
