Rain snow potential tonight, colder Tuesday
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in place through Tuesday morning for the potential for a couple inches of snow and some blowing snow overnight.
Below is what our StormCast model is saying for timing and duration:
The best chance for accumulating snow will be north of I-80 with 1-2″ possible from Omaha to Columbus and areas west. 2-4″ in northern Nebraska is possible.
Along and south of I-80 will see a trace to around an inch or so. Rain mixing in early then the warm ground below will keep it from piling up too fast.
Temperatures will slowly drop to the freezing mark just after midnight then hover in the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Early morning temperatures will range from the middle teens west to the middle and upper 20s east.
Highs will be in the 20s and 30s for the last day of 2024. A little below average!
The cool down will really kick in this coming weekend as a cold front sweeps through, gives us a chance at some snow, then much colder air rushes in next week.
