Rain tonight into Tuesday

It’s been a while since we’ve seen rainfall. In fact, before today, Lincoln had only seen a trace of rain all August! That has started to change with the rain showers we’ve been seeing on and off today and the chance for more rain tonight into Tuesday.

Rain will become more possible as the evening wears on with the best chance for heavy rain overnight. The rain potential lingers into Tuesday before tapering off.

Some areas will have the potential for heavy rain as models indicate a swath of strong storm setting up somewhere along I80. It won’t be a very wide swath, only about 50 miles wide, so those that see heavy rain and those that seen moderate rain will vary.

Along with the rain chance tonight into Tuesday, it’s going to remain cool through the next 24 hours. Highs on Tuesday are going to struggle with the added cloud cover and rain chances. We’ll be a good 15 degrees below average!
