Record highs possible
Record highs are looking likely for Friday and Saturday. That 91 for Lincoln on Saturday would tie the warmest it’s ever been in March!
Everybody will be in the 80s on Friday. Even getting fairly close to 90 in SW Nebraska.
Speaking of 90s, just about everybody will be in the 90s on Saturday. 100 isn’t out of the question in SW Nebraska, either.
Part of the reason it’s so warm is because it’s so dry. The only chance for rain comes on Tuesday of next week, but even that looks minimal.
The lack of rain is really starting to show on the Drought Monitor. Several “Extreme Drought” and a large “Severe Drought” takes up most of Nebraska.
With no precipitation in the forecast, several days above average are likely through the end of March.
