Repeat offender exposed himself at Lincoln park, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man fondled himself in broad daylight Thursday at a north Lincoln park, police say.
About 3:30 p.m., a woman at Pentzer Park near 17th and Holdrege streets reported that a man put his hands down his pants and touched his genitals.
The woman was with her children, police said.
Another witness said the man also exposed his genitals.
Officers arrested 27-year-old Michael Dixon on suspicion of public indecency, disturbing the peace and child abuse.
Court documents say this is not the first time Dixon has been accused of similar behavior.
In 2021, he was arrested on suspicion of exposing himself at Gateway Mall. Police said he also kicked one of the responding officers in the arm.
Dixon was convicted of third-degree assault on an officer, negligent child abuse with no injury and obstructing a peace officer — all misdemeanors — and sentenced to 416 days in jail.
In March 2023, he was convicted in Douglas County for indecent exposure.
He was sentenced to 15 days in jail but was given credit for 15 days already spent behind bars.
In February, Dixon masturbated in the triage area of Bryan West Medical Center, according to an arrest affidavit. He was convicted and again sentenced to time served.
He was charged with indecent exposure again in July, but court documents do not provide any details on the allegations.
Dixon’s criminal history also includes a wide variety of other crimes, according to court records.
He was arrested in February after police said he stole a car and bit a police officer on the leg in north Lincoln.

Dixon took a plea deal that reduced the charges to misdemeanors.
In June, Judge Laurie Yardley sentenced him to 180 days in jail. But she gave the Lancaster County Department of Corrections discretion to give Dixon credit for time served.
Court records show that the jail released him the same day he was sentenced.
