Residents to be relocated after Lincoln apartment fire
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln apartment building was evacuated Monday afternoon due to a fire in one of the units.
The fire happened around 12:40 p.m. near Ninth and G Streets.
When crews arrived, Lincoln Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Jim Bopp said heavy smoke was coming from one of the units.
Crews then entered the building, which had already been evacuated, and quickly extinguished the flames.
Bopp said one unit was damaged by the fire and another had water damage. Residents in those units will need to be relocated.
The cause of the fire and the amount of damage are unknown. An investigation is ongoing.
No one was injured in the fire.
